"Seek Adventure" - Final Performance

Image
For my final performance video, I used a combination of programs provided on the Mac; iMovie and 10 GarageBand songs mixed together. This video is a combination of videos that I have taken from my vacations the last two summers with my family and friends. Some videos took place in the Bahamas, and others took place in Jamaica. I shot these videos using my GoPro Hero 4, and I always wanted to make a video compiled of these mini videos, but never had the chance or the means to do so. Every time I tried, I didn't know the little tricks that I do now for it to turn out how I imagined it in my head. This videos overall purpose was to capture what life has to offer when you put your phone down and spend time with those you care about to experience new things, and enjoy life as it comes. My in-class inspiration was from when we saw the video that incorporated a lot of overlapping scenes as well as slow-motion, so I decided to slow-motion some parts to capture the feelings behind the vid

Music Blog - Tomorrowland

Image
Tomorrowland is an electronic dance music festival that consists of the most popular DJ’s across the globe. Some of the most modern and popular artists make appearances there; such as David Guetta, who has made multiple appearances through the years, Tiesto, Avicii, Steve Aoki, Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Hardwell, Skrillex, Alesso, Otto Knows, The Chainsmokers, and beyond. Tomorrowland is held in Boom, Belgium and first revealed its presence in the late-summer month of August in 2005. Since then, Tomorrowland has impacted music and technology and has made its trademark by becoming one of the most extraordinary music festivals, which extends over the last two weekends of July, and is sold out within minutes of the tickets going on sale. As of 2018, the attendance rate consisted of 400,000 people, spread across the two weekends, and sold out within an hour. Tomorrowland consists of a theme each year, where the staging and sceneries make these themes come alive and mak

Social Media Collage

Image
For my collage, I originally started with the idea to make it about a bunch of things I like, but I quickly decided that with this project I wanted to have a meaning of some sort behind it. With this in mind, I decided to switch gears and go towards a collage about social media influences on girls in todays society. Mostly what happens is girls see other girls, or famous figures for that matter, and use social media to compare themselves and pick out what they believe is a flaw. They tend to use editing apps in order to make themselves more appealing, which then will lead to more likes, comments, and followers, which ultimately is every girls goal. It is a really sad world we live in that this has to be a competition; the more likes you have the more random people desire you as a person, and the more girls want to be you. With my collage, I took a picture of a girl peeking at the bottom and added an iPhone reflection in her sunglasses. Over her head, is a mini compilation of Insta

Grid Art Project

Image
For my grid project, I decided to go with pixelating a picture of the cartoon version of Cinderella's Princess Castle from the Disney movie. I originally tried to find a picture that would represent New Jersey, being thats where I am from and I love it, but nothing worked well with either too little of colors, or consisted of too many colors making it another level of complicated. Therefore, I chose to go with Cinderella's Castle. Disney has always played a large part in my childhood, and now is having the same presence in my little sister's life as well. Disney represents something so big; family, happiness, and imagination, all of which are extremely important to me. This project was difficult, in a way, when trying to match colors to get as close as possible to the original. I constructed my own grid by measuring each square, equalling a 12x18 pixelated image, and used colored pencils to create the image. For some squares, I had to mix several colors in order to

Evolution of File Sharing

Peer-to-peer file sharing has been around for quite some time now. Starting way back, it became more prominent within the early 2000’s as technology became more advanced. LimeWire was amongst one of the earliest platforms that allowed its users to share not only music, which is what it was predominantly used for, but also gave access to sharing movies, and other computer programs. Within the earlier 2000’s, when LimeWire was popularly used, it had millions of users sharing files on a day to day basis, myself included. For me, and like many others, LimeWire was a source used mainly to download popular songs onto my iPod and computer in order to create playlists without having to pay Apple $1.99 to download each and every song I wanted to have at my fingertips. With this way of freely downloading music, comes the disadvantage and destruction it causes to the artists that make up the music industry. Unfortunately, LimeWire had become under the watchful eye of authorities due to copyrig

Stop Motion Animation

Image
Ellie and I did a collaboration for our stop motion animation combining two ideas, called "Modern Childhood." We started out with the idea of me driving the invisible boat mobile to pick her up, but then decided to add a twist. We incorporated the idea of Uber tied with the invisible boat mobile, combining modern transportation with a well known childhood "transportation". After dropping Ellie off at her location, I picked up my next rider, Gabby, and proceeded to drive and do my job as an Uber driver. This project was overall a fun experience and I enjoyed getting the opportunity to use my creativity, in combination with Ellie's, to create something funny for others to enjoy. :)

Stage Door Blog Comments

One of my favorite broadway videos I got to watch on this website was the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" performance. Although this video wasn't the full experience, I was blown away by only watching the two minute clips taken throughout the various scenes and pieced together to form this short trailer. I was truly amazed and taken a back from the exquisiteness of the sceneries this performance displayed. The scene where Charlie walks the streets was displayed perfectly with the rundown appearance and gloomy feel you take away when watching the movie. I was especially taken a back when the scene displayed the taste testing room, where it appears to look like a valley of grass, hills, and trees, but everything is edible. This scene captured the true scene which is hard to display on stage, but this team managed to do it exquisitely! The colors of the lighting within the scenes were bright and colorful, filling the spectrum and having the audience truly experien
